Childrens Activity Programs

Testimonials

The thought of allowing your child to be in the care of an unknown adult is a confronting act to take. I remember when it was my time to approach this action. With hesitation I allowed my first born to enter into an unknown world.
What a fabulous decision I made.

The Whitfords Family Centre was my child's first foray into education and care by unknown or unconnected people. The term unknown and unconnected soon disappeared as our family developed wonderful friendships and professional relationships. This relationship still exists even though my children have left the centre for over 4 years.

My association with the Whitfords Family Centre (soon to be known purely as Robyn and Kath's) began in early 2000, At that time I had a very enthusiastic nearly 3-year old, a one-and-a-half-year old and due to produce number 3. The centre became my refuge and place of reassurance and sanity. Robyn and Kath welcomed me and my children into their life and we all became members of the Family Centre. My children's time at the centre involved a lot of firsts. First friend, (my 8-year old still has this person as his very close friend), first girl/boyfriend, first time to see Father Christmas, first bike riding, first split lip, first created present, drawing, painting for Mum, and even first visit to the toilet for number twos!

All my children attended the Family Centre and as my time became a little freer I decided that I should honour the centre that I admired so much by donating some of my busy time to them. The committee consists of volunteers who gracefully provide their time to support the centre.

My role began with a general committee member that involved running face painting stalls at the centre, sausage sizzles and attending monthly meetings. This soon escalated into becoming the Chairperson of the committee. In this role I wanted to leave my mark. It always concerned me that on the exterior the centre was not distinguishable as a centre for children.
Once the bikes, waterplay, prams and balls were put away the centre was devoid of child related manners. As I was a secondary teacher and at that time working with young people studying child care I created a project that involved the children creating and designing murals for the wall at the centre.
This activity became a much loved and cherished activity by the students. We had numerous visits to the site to measure up the walls, meet the children and Robyn and Kath. The end result was brilliant! I look with pride at the walls as I drive past.

The special celebration of the Whitford Family Centre will be a wonderful experience. After chatting with my children I noticed their excitement at returning to their foundations. We all look forward to touching base again with Robyn and Kath.

My three boys have all attended the WFC. It’s a fantastic place, staff are really friendly and go out of their way to accommodate special needs such as food allergies.

The children have lots of fun, & it is a great social preparation for full time school.

I have three children two boys and one girl. They have all attended the 3 year old and 4 year old programs at Whitfords Family Centre. The wonderful programs include all sorts of activities and lots of fun play. I found the caring staff to be very friendly and approachable with years of experience and knowledge.

My children had lots of fun and learnt at the same time in a stimulating and educational environment. They also learnt how to interact, share and communicate with the other children in the group.
These programs helped my children adapted very quickly going into Kindergarten at their school. It made the separation from mum a very easy transition too.

I would highly recommend Whitfords Family Centre to my family and friends and to any other families looking for a 3 year old and 4 year old program for their children.
My children had a very enjoyable and fun experience they loved going to (Robyn’s Kindy) and still talk about it today.
