Overview
The Centre’s Children’s Programs focus on learning
through play covering all aspects of development. No forced formal
learning occurs although the children are encouraged to participate in all
activities provided.
This is a year for socialization and experimentation, allowing
children the opportunity to make friends and gain confidence in being away
from the home environment.
All children are treated as individuals and as such will
develop at their own rates.
We encourage children to be as independent as possible,
particularly when it comes to toileting and clothing eg. socks/shoes
etc. We show children how to do things and we will help if needed.
Our staff, place an emphasis on the learning process children
go through, rather than the end product. This means children will not
always bring work home, but this does not mean they have not done
anything. Everything that your children do during sessions helps with
their development.

We run two separate socialisation programs for children.
The programs aim to achieve the skill development areas of gross & fine
motor, language, cognitive, social & emotional, music, art & craft
all at an age appropriate level.

Our 4’s Program

attend the school kindy program. Children attend for two 3 hour sessions
per week during the school term. There are 3 groups of 20

A Qualified Child Care Giver and
Assistant(s) are here at all times. We are licensed through the Department
for Communities Licensing & Standards Unit and comply with the Children
and Community Services (Child Care) Regulations 2006.
Discipline – Our policy on discipline
is such that the children are actively involved in establishing the centres
limits eg. walk inside not run. We use positive guidance techniques
and praise appropriate behaviour and re-direct towards more productive
activities. If all else fails we use the ‘Thinking Chair’
with staff supervision for a short period. Parents will be notified
of unusual behaviour.
Accidents/illness – in the event of either we will
endeavour to contact parents first but if we are unable to, then the
emergency contact number will be used. Please keep these numbers up
to date.
